Green Purchasing Policy

As part of Fort Sumter Tours and SpiritLine Cruises's Environmental Management System (EMS) commitments to reduce pollution and protect the health and safety of our employees and visitors, we will seek vendors, within our procurement authority, with progressive environmental ethics as sources of "green" products, and we will minimize the number and quantity of products we use. We will purchase recycled-content products and materials wherever possible as a resource conservation measure. We will purchase products that are not environmentally friendly only on an exception basis if no other products are available and other environmentally friendly practices cannot be substituted. We will use the definition of a "green" product now in use in many national parks.
